Travis Calder – Software Developer

As a passionate self-learner, Travis has looked to microservice solutions as a reliable way to quickly deliver quality scalable software for most of his professional career. His approach focuses on merging high-quality solutions with speed of delivery. Travis currently lives in Saskatoon, SK where he took his B. Sc in Computer Science.

Training Qualifications:

LAJ-P – Lightbend Akka with Java Professional

LSL-P – Lightbend Scala Professional

Working at YoppWorks

After working with Scala and Akka for several years, Travis moved on to applying a microservice architecture in a pure-java environment. While the techniques worked well, it was apparent that the technologies and approach didn’t strongly complement his preferred style of systems architecture.

When an opportunity arose to work with Lightbend technologies again, Travis jumped at the chance. Since then, he’s found himself happily immersed in an environment where innovation and community are valued and open communication is seen as a key to success.
