Hortonworks Canada President and Jack Gulas present to the Canadian Government how Open Source is the Engine of Innovation
The NEW digital enterprise faces the challenges of data doubling every two years and the need for continuous innovation. Many enterprises are choosing Open Source technologies to meet this demand and to increase their time to value for new product offerings and citizen services. Open Source technologies and their communities offer reduced risk, higher integration, and a more agile architecture vs. traditional COTS products.
Our session at the recent GTEC conference in Ottawa examined the merits of Open Source for the Public Sector in particular focused on the recent success of application development with a reactive platform and data store and processing with a big data framework.
